SMASH AFRIKA's RESOLUTIONS
Regular exfoliating | Drink more water | Daily sunscreen
Popular radio and television host Smash Afrika might be loud, fun and full of energy but when it comes to his grooming goals for the New Year, he’s taking things much more seriously…
‘I'd like to be more intentional about my grooming goals in the next year. The days of winging it are done for me. I've recently started exfoliating twice a month, my face and to some extent my body, and that’s definitely something I want to keep up. I plan to be conscious about drinking more water, such a simple health benefit for our skin that we, especially guys, overlook. Water and sunscreen are key silent players in keeping my skin popping. I’m definitely staying glowed up in 2020. As to products, I am sticking to my Nivea Facial Wash Gel and the Nivea SPF 15 – if it ain’t broke, you know?' – @smashafrika
CHARLIXBOI's RESOLUTIONS
| Groomed brows | Better night-time routine | Regular sun protection
Self-taught make-up artist, beauty and grooming specialist, and content creator, CharlixBoi is no stranger when it comes to sharing his beauty tips and tricks. With a growing following on both Instagram and YouTube he’s definitely one to listen to…
‘The past couple of years I have focused on my grooming with regular visits to my barber. Although I have complete confidence in my beard and hair, I feel like I haven't achieved the perfectly groomed eyebrow shape to complement my face and beard. I don't want to go too shaped and arched but also don't want my full boer brow to take over my face. So I think I will visit the Benefit Brow Bar for help.
I also want to incorporate sun protection into my daily routine and focus on improving my night-time routine with an eye cream and serum to really combat those early signs of ageing. I have my eye on Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Night-Time Miracle Moisturiser, Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Fluid and SKOON. WOW-WOW WONDER 3-Hyaluron + C Serum.’ – @charlixboi
NTSAKO MITENDE's RESOLUTIONS
| Regular exfoliation | Regular masking | Start using a toner
Ntsako Mitende is a force to be reckoned with in the creative industry. The interior decorator, model, actor and stylist is also the founder and director of model agency Raw Afrika Models and a grooming master we turn to for guidance.
‘I’m going to be focusing more on my body in 2020; I would like to buff up a little. Apart from that though, I want to maintain my skin to be clear and healthy – I have heard that exfoliation is the way to go for this, so I will be making an effort to exfoliate regularly. I take my grooming seriously and enjoy pampering myself and so I would like to include a mask once a week and a toner.’ – @ntsakomitenda
MATTE JACOBS's RESOLUTIONS
| Invest in natural beauty products | Use an exfoliator regularly
Forging the way for millennial and Gen Z beauty boys, Matte Jacobs is playing his part in redefining the beauty industry as an inclusive and gender-neutral space through his boundary breaking make-up looks and modeling campaigns.
‘My grooming resolution for 2020 is to better my skin overall and focus on clearing blemishes. I want to focus on using products that are as natural as possible next year to avoid unnecessary ingredients that are harmful to my skin in the long run. I’m looking to find a really good exfoliator to help with clogged pores and assist in helping to get rid of acne scars.’ - @mattejacobs
