Contouring: a beauty buzzword you might have heard bandied about by bloggers and make-up artists alike, not to mention the Jenner-Kardashian clan. But do you know how to contour? Follow our easy guide to contouring like a pro.

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH CONTOURING?

Nothing will sculpt your jawline and define your cheekbones quite like a bit of contouring. Although this technique might look like it requires professional know-how, it’s totally doable at home – if you have the right tools and a foolproof palette. Follow these three simple steps to get going.

1. APPLY THE DARKER CONTOUR SHADE TO THE HOLLOWS OF YOUR CHEEKS
After prepping and evening out the skin with primer and foundation, apply the darkest contour shade to the hollows of your cheeks – in other words, the sunken area just below your cheekbones – with an angled contour brush.

2. DUST BRONZER IN THE SHAPE OF A ‘3’
Blend the bronzer in the shape of the number ‘3' starting at the forehead along the hairline toward the cheekbone and then down to the jawline. This will add depth and definition to your face shape.

3. USE A HIGHLIGHTER ON THE HIGHEST POINTS OF YOUR FACE
Highlighter is key to a contoured look. Not only does it help sculpt the face but it also helps balance out the contouring. As for application, place the highlighting products on the areas most likely to be naturally hit by light – on the tops of your cheekbones; at the centre of your forehead; along the bridge of your nose; the centre of your chin, and on your Cupid's bow.
