The South African International Documentary Film Festival (31 May – 10 June)
The international film fair Encounters returns with a variety of outstanding documentaries from around the world. The festival screens take place at Ster Kinekor Cinema Nouveau at the V&A Waterfront and The Labia, featuring an exciting line-up of some of the best up-and-coming filmmakers. The Wacky Wine Weekend (7 – 9 June)
Can you think of a better way to spend a weekend than sampling vintage wines, participating in tastings and getting to know local winemakers in the beautiful Robertson Wine Valley? We certainly can’t. Despite its name, the Wacky Wine Festival is not just about wine; there are also a number of outdoor, sport and family-friendly activities to suit everyone’s interests. Riaad Moosa – Not A Nice Guy (10 – 29 June)
Getting older is confusing, says Riaad Moosa; and who are we to argue? Discover the challenges of being nice at middle age with his latest comedy offering at the Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch. The Tree House (17 June – 12 July)
Delight kids from four to 14 years of age with a five-day holiday programme at The Tree House edu-play centre on the Boschendal Wine Estate in Franschoek. Father’s Day Buffet at the 12 Apostles (16 June)

Not A Musical by Marc Lottering (29 May – 9 June)
Hot off the heels of Lottering’s hit show Aunty Merle The Musical is his latest stand-up offering comprising all new material at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre. All we know for sure at this stage is that this one’s definitely not a musical. Fans will know to expect an evening of laughs second to none compliments of SA’s homegrown comedy veteran. PG16. Disney On Ice: Magical Ice Festival (21 – 30 June)
Mickey and Minnie Mouse take audiences through the most magical moments from the Disney Kingdom, with fresh twists on classics such as Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, Frozen and many more. Sing, dance and cheer along with all your favourite characters as they embark on their own journeys with plenty of action, adventure and fun on the ice along the way. Venue: The Ticketpro Dome. Bridal expo 2019 (29 – 30 June)
Those planning a wedding won’t want to miss this spectacular bridal expo in the beautiful surrounds of Oakhill Farm in Krugersdorp. Meet over 150 of SA’s leading wedding specialists, enjoy a free wedding fashion show each afternoon, and browse a selection of gorgeous wedding dresses, venues, menu options and more. Comrades Exhibition & Marathon (6 – 9 June)
