The 9 shoes that will dominate this spring

- - No comments
We round up nine shoes you’re bound to see everywhere this season. From woven styles and metallic shine to animal print, these are spring’s must-have shoes.
We’re already lusting for warmer weather, bright sunny days and sandals – even though we’re still ploughing our way through a long, very cold winter. But there’s no harm in early prep – in fact, it comes highly recommended! Here are the nine shoes you can expect to see everywhere this coming spring.

SCARF PRINT

All hail the return of the court shoe! And even better – it incorporates a trend that actually feels fresh – the scarf print. And we love that the particular print on this shoe has a distinct vintage feel to it. The shape of the court shoe combined with the chicness of the scarf print will make your entire outfit look seriously elegant and sophisticated. Pair yours with a light denim jacket if you feel the need to bring down the sophistication level a notch or two.

LACED UP STILETTOS

Not only does this shoe make use of bright yellow (a colour that has been trending for a while now that no one can seem to get enough of) it also incorporates one of the latest, fresh-off-the-resortwear-runway details – lace. Not the delicate fabric but rather the gladiator-inspired ropes that wrap around your ankle. Christian Dior is just one of the many designers that spring to mind who used this trend to create some seriously interesting silhouettes.
Hint: wrap your ropes over the bottom of your trousers for a fashion-forward look.

BRAIDED

Just ask Tory Burch and Stella McCartney about braided (faux) leather shoes. Both high-end designers showcased their version – whether braided or woven – of the trend on their SS19 runways. Braided fabric is trending big time, and these peep toe heels are the perfect pair to invest in this spring.

BARELY-THERE SANDAL

Everyone needs a pair of ultra-thin strappy sandals stat. Otherwise known as barely-there sandals, it’s a trend that has hit the scene with a bang. Seen on the most recent runways from designers like The Row, BY FAR and Jacquemus, these are the must-have sandals of the season. The minimalist style suits just about every occasion and fashion sense. Here’s to comfortable heels and elongated legs!

BLOCK HEELS

Pair with blue straight-cut jeans and a white tee; wear with a floral-print spring dress and a denim jacket or with your trusty LBD that you save for date nights and weddings – whatever the occasion, this shoe fits (excuse the pun). Also, the block heel will mean your feet won’t be in pain all day/night long – bonus.

ANIMAL PRINT

Probably the hottest trend of the moment – animal print. When you have a pair of shoes like this, your outfit barely even has to try… and python print in particular is a firm favourite among the animal prints atm – chic and seriously stylish, you can’t go wrong. We love the print of these practical and comfortable summer shoes. Just slip them right on and off you go. Pair with just about  anything for a spring look that won’t tire.

HIGH GLOSS

The glossy shoe trend was a big hit in the northern parts of the world during its recent spring/summer. From bright silver and glossy black to metallic rose-gold, we can’t get enough of the shoe trend that demands all the attention.

KITTEN HEELS

Remember throwing away your overly worn kitten heels circa 2004 and vowing to never wear the style ever again? Well, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: fashion is cyclical and what goes out of style comes back round again to surprise you. And the kitten heel is one such trend you won’t be able to get away from this season! Carrie Bradshaw’s favourite footwear gets an update though – think pastel colours, cute buckles and adornments.

CHUNKY SNEAKER

If you haven’t already, you may as well jump on the dad-shoe bandwagon because this is a trend that’s not going anywhere anytime soon. It’s hardy appeal has stuck around for a couple seasons already, and is versatile enough to be a winter favourite and a spring/summer go-to. Chunky and full of personality, go for a neutral hue that lends itself to a variety of styles and occasions.
