Dior Joy 50ml EDP 1715

The last time the house of Dior launched a major fragrance pillar was in 1999, so we’re particularly excited about their latest offering, Joy. You'll know right off the bat that it's a Dior perfume by the gorgeous notes of Grasse rose and jasmine, but it’s the zesty bergamot and mandarin that gives it a youthful appeal that's sure to bring you much joy for years to come.
Calvin Klein Women 50ml EDP 1180

The breathtakingly beautiful bottle alone indicates that this new fragrance from Calvin Klein is no ordinary scent. Described as a woody floral, this new aroma blends fresh eucalyptus acorns and delicate orange flower petals with rich Alaskan cedarwood, for a scent as beautifully diverse as the women who inspire it.

Chloe Nomade 50ml EDP 1475

The new Nomade draws on the Chloe girl’s desire for adventure and freedom. Featuring a mix of natural oak moss, Mirabelle plum and freesia notes, the fragrance has an intense finish – perfect for the woman in search of a signature scent to suit her free-spirited personality.

With a host of fragrances under his belt – many of them already gaining cult status – it’s this particular scent from Tom Ford that we believe will stand the test of time. Dolce & Gabbana The Only One 50ml EDP 1545

A luxurious scent that was born to stand out, The Only One is best described as a bold floriental thanks to the juicy pairing of bergamot and violet flowers – a rare combination that gives an opulent edge to the addictive scent.

Twilly d’Hermès 50ml EDP 1620

Named after the slender silk accessory that women often wrap around their wrists, hair or bag handles, Twilly d’Hermès is not your average French perfume. Winter lip trends you’ll love

- - No comments
It’s fun to play around with your make-up, especially in winter when you can wear more than you would in summer. Make your lips stand out with these easy-to-do looks.
We all know the impact of eye shadow, highlighters and bronzers when it comes to creating pretty peepers and perfectly chiselled cheeks – but it’s lipstick that has the most power to change our look. Our round-up of the hottest (and wildest) lip looks to covet this season, is all the proof you need. It’s a lipstick jungle out there!

Deep, dark and dramatic

From rich oxblood and burgundy to deep plum and black, dark lips are a great choice this winter. These seductive shades may look daring, but they come off more glam than emo when worn correctly. The key is to balance your look and pair your moody mouth with groomed, well-defined eyebrows, minimal eye make-up and soft cheeks, allowing your lips to be the main focus.

Purple rain

Pantone's colour of the year for 2018 is still proving to be strong in the beauty realm, with purple shades of make-up spotted everywhere – especially on lips. And while we still love matte mauve, this year it’s all about the juicy lip, which creates the illusion of a naturally fuller pout.

Two shades of colour

Do you always wear red lipstick but want to try an orange shade? Our solution is to wear both. Dual-hue lips are having a huge moment. The trend involves using two different lipstick shades or colours and keeping them completely separate from each other – so no lip smacking whatsoever. It’s also best to stick to matte shades, as these tend not to bleed. As for colours – go as daring as you like, but if it’s fuller-looking lips you're after then stick to lipstick with similar tones.

Glossy Lady

When legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath glossed up her models’ lips in glitter at just about every fashion show this past season, we knew we could expect a resurgence of this ’90s trend. To avoid looking like a bad ’90s throwback, keep it modern and sophisticated by pairing your shimmering gloss with make-up that leans towards neutral territory.

Metal lips

Fresh and elegant, this look is the perfect way to pay homage to the metallic trend without your lips looking like a glitter ball. And when paired with a bold matte shade, such as fuchsia, lips look even more striking.

Lips with a gradient effect

A K-beauty trend making major beauty waves is the gradient lip. Blending and fading is key to creating this gorgeous look that relies on a contrast of dark and light shades. Start off by applying concealer to lips, as this will help to lighten them and make the colour stand out even more. Next, apply the darkest colour to your top lip blending the colour out, all the way toward the centre of the bottom lip. Lastly, add your lightest colour to the lower area of your bottom lip.

BOOST YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP WITH THESE NOURISHING OVERNIGHT TREATMENTS

- - No comments
These intense, overnight beauty products will ensure you wake up with a radiant complexion.
It’s no secret that a good night’s sleep is great for your skin – it’s not called beauty sleep for nothing after all. But for most of us, it takes more than eight hours of shuteye to achieve a truly radiant complexion. That’s where the latest crop of high-powered overnight treatments comes into play. Created to support, boost and even mimic the skin’s nightly repair process, they do all the heavy lifting while you’re in dreamland. From masks to moisturisers, serums to oils, here’s the lowdown on the beauty products that will take your skin from drab to fab.

REGENERATING SERUMS

Serums are able to penetrate the skin at a deep level, where the active ingredients can work their magic. A night-time serum specifically aimed at hydration and regeneration will boost your skin’s cell renewal process for a naturally radiant look.

INTENSE MOISTURISERS

A rich night cream packed with potent extracts that facilitate skin renewal is a must. Select products with powerful anti-ageing ingredients such as retinol, hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, as well as peptides and vitamins, which are all known for their restorative properties.

ADVANCED EYE CREAMS

The area around the eyes is the most delicate skin, so a nourishing and firming formula is key. Peptides and antioxidants help to improve the appearance of dry, tired skin, as well as minimise expression lines.

SUPERHERO MASKS

Applying a mask once or twice a week could just be the moisture-boosting step your skin needs to look its best – especially as we head into winter. An overnight mask is the final step in your evening beauty ritual, locking in the benefits of the products that came before for hydrated, plumped and refreshed skin.

THE BEST BEAUTY OILS

Face oils are a valuable addition to your nightly routine, no matter what your skin type. Dry, sensitive skins will love the intense moisture, while those with oily and combination skins will find that beauty oils help to clear the congestion caused by blocked pores, reducing breakouts, blackheads and enlarged pores.

3 ways to style your home like an interior designer

Update your home and give it a designer feel with modern geometric patterns, lush plants and metallic pastel shades.
Follow these styling tips when updating your home for a designer finish without the spend.

Style tip 1 Go with geometric accessories

Geometric furniture, prints and accessories are big news right now. We’re seeing a move towards sculptural, precious-gem-like sidetables and furniture made from wire, which add interest and depth, giving the illusion of bigger space due to the open frames. If you’re keen to give your home an entire makeover, you can introduce the  geometric trend in small ways. Use diamond-shaped tiles to create an Escher-esque artwork for your kitchen or bathroom backsplash, go minimalist with geometric-print cushions or art prints, or add subtle dimension in the form of a matt black faceted vase or accessory. The trick here is to balance the scale of the design colours – if the pattern is busy, go for subdued colours, and vice versa. Create a sense of luxury without spending a lot of money by introducing gold accents on smalls and accessories.

Style tip 2 Bring in plant life

Indoor plants provide us with a connection to the outdoors that’s especially appealing to inner-city dwellers. The focus is on compact, sturdy succulents that are simultaneously water-wise and easy to maintain. The larger, leafier varieties still reign supreme. ‘Our most popular house plants are Monstera deliciosa and Philodendron selloum. Magnificently lush and leafy, both of these look amazing displayed in handwoven baskets, as kokedamas (moss balls), or in water instead of soil in beautiful vases,’ says Ashleigh Martyn, owner of online nursery Mother City Jungle. It’s also worth considering artificial plants to spruce up your space. Orchids, which are notoriously difficult to care for, can serve the right amount of class without all the hassle, and you get to enjoy the plant’s gorgeous blooms all year around.

Style tip 3 Add candy colours

On the other end of the colour spectrum, we’re seeing a resurgence of candy colours in interiors. ‘Pastel candy shades, which are traditionally quite feminine, have been reintroduced in soft metallic finishes, coloured glass and beautiful blush linens,’ says Melissa Lawrence, owner of Cape Town-based creative consultancy Studio Melissa Louise. ‘These elements are easily paired with a neutral colour palette and, when used in abundance, create visual intrigue.’ Consider bringing in woven textiles such as rattan, cane and wicker to balance out the fun pastels for a look that’s adult appropriate. In terms of paint, Plascon’s Glamour range fits the bill. Mermaid Jewel and Candy Tuft on a feature wall or ceiling will add character to any space, just be sure to use these attention-grabbing hues sparingly – your chosen candy colour should only make up about 30% of the colour in the room.
